Quality of the input data
The quality of the GLOBIO analyses largely depends on the quality of the data input. Regarding input for global-scale analysis, the following aspects are particularly important:
- Uncertainties in the area and spatial distribution of the different land use classes
- Uncertainties for climate and atmospheric N deposition. These uncertainties are extensively explored and documented by the IPCC.
- Incompleteness of the map for infrastructure (Digital Chart of the World)
For regional and national analyses higher quality input data might be available.
